I am a firm believer in the importance of developing web applications compliant with web standards in order to uphold the original purpose of the World Wide Web to provide "a common space where users can share information to work together, to play, and to socialize". This site makes use of the following technologies to do so:

HTML5 Logo

HTML5 is a markup language used to structure the information that is sent to web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc) to be rendered as web pages. Prior to being rendered by a browser's rendering engine, HTML looks like this:

example of HTML5 code

The above image is from a screengrab of the current webpage. Pages that are written in compliance with web standards are more likely to render across all browsers on all platforms (desktop operating systems, mobile operating systems, etc). This page validates as proper HTML5.

The Cascading Style Sheets provide a way to style pages created with HTML and other markup languages. They allows a developer to separate the information (the HTML) from its display logic (CSS). More coming soon...

Javascript is a scripting language that is used to control the behavior of a webpage. More coming soon...
